orlan and the bee is closed as a gourmet tea biscuit and cookie business.
My intention was to have this as my employment with the hope of eventually moving out of my parents' house. I was to make $12 per hour, which is actually enough to live well in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and more than any job I've had on a permanent basis. It is a great challenge setting up a business, and I put a lot of time, effort, and money into this venture. Please peruse the photos. I consider it a successful art project.
My hope for the future is for orlan and the bee to be reborn into a new business that represents who I am as authentically as a rosemary and lemon or dark chocolate tea biscuit. I take great pleasure and baking and love my romantic potager. I am now able to spend time playing in the kitchen and garden, not waiting for an order and baking many of the same thing.
Thank you to all of the family members and friends of family who supported me in my first business.
